The Happy Mat offers mat based Pilates and yoga classes in the light, spacious and newly renovated Uniting Church Hall on the corner of Angelo Street and Sandgate Street in South Perth. The classes are suitable for beginners as well as clients who have experience in Pilates or yoga.
Classes We Offer
Mat Pilates and Vinyasa Slow Flow Yoga
Mat Pilates is a style of body weight training done mostly on the floor with the body weight used as resistance. Core principles of Pilates are relaxation, concentration, alignment, breathing, centering, control, stamina, integration and flow.
Vinyasa Yoga is a flowing style of yoga with a focus on movement with the breath.
Instructor
Christie Otto is an experienced Pilates and yoga instructor with a passion for holistic wellbeing. She has a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town and first qualified in Mat Pilates in South Africa in 2006. She completed her Iyengar yoga 200 hr course in 2012 and then studied Vinyasa yoga 200hr course in 2021 in Perth, WA.
